This afternoon I went down the road to my friends farm where I found a 1790s site last week. My friends mom is trying to get in to detecting. So we took her out to this site. This site is in the corner of an open field. The weeds were growing up so my friend mowed it down with a big batwing mower. We had just started when she got a signal. We dug it and she got her first colonial button.
I got a good signal that I thought was a farthing or half cent so I let her dig it. Well it was neither it was a half reale 1781. We ended up with five button three of them were dandys. Right before we quit for the day she got a very good signal. We dug it and it was a compass. This site is very clean only things that aren’t 1790s is shot gun shells and tractor parts so I think it’s a 1700s compass. Which I’ve never seen. It was a good time.
