Hello,

My grandparents had many metal detectors and shared them with all us grandchildren over the years. I've inherited one recently and am excited to get back into it!

However, the machine no longer calibrates. The Metal/Mineral knob is normally adjusted with the head is airborne until the beeping tone stops. On my machine, no matter how much I turn the knob the beeping is always going.

Any assistance y'all on this form would have on potential problems or repairs would be greatly appreciated. I haven't taken the cover off yet, but that's my next step.

Here is a link to the manual: https://garrett.com/sites/default/files/pdf/2020-12/Coinmaster_TR_with_Discriminate_en.pdf

Thank you for your time,
-Kelsey Gabel

disassemble and change the pot the knob is attached to (or disconnect it and test w/multimeter)-- the ohm value/part # will be on the potentiometer if you need to replace. Amazon, eBay, Mouser.com for part...

Hello everyone,
I opened up the machine and turns out I just needed to tighten a screw on the potentiometer! We went detecting yesterday in our yard and somehow found a shovel?? It was about 2 inches underground. Not sure what the story is there.
Thanks for the help.

Years ago I had a Whites DFX and attended a DFX only hunt. There was one guy there using this same machine and we were blown away at the finds he made. It was not a seeded hunt either. That is a very viable machine. although it has weight, it WILL get the job done.
