Went on a road trip with a hunting buddy last weekend. We each got some keepers. I got this token that ... as it turns out, is quite rare. According to the AZ token book "1 to 2 known" on the rarity scale. I guess that's changed to : "1 to 3 known" now, haha. And as you can see from this page out of the AZ token book, it's worth $900, as of the date of that book. Not bad :)

Also from the same site, this maverick token came up. That Simply has "E. B. 50 in MDSE" As if hand-stamped. And nothing on the reverse. Ordinarily a maverick token like this wouldn't be worth anything, yet : We noticed it had the same initials as the proprietor on the other one. HHhhhmmm

And this 1864 s half dime. This came out grey-ish dinge. But with some spit & tinfoil, and some Ezest dips, came out so-so OK.

My buddy found this awesome buckle. It is reminiscent of a type found in the CA gold-rush camps. Which often had military themes/motifs on them . Eg.: Eagles, anchors, etc... Yet weren't military. But based on the similarity of type and feel, we are assuming 1850-70-ish range. Anyone here got any info they can add about this ?

Other than that, some CW era eagle buttons, rivets, lantern parts, etc.... Fun fun !

Great finds, Tom. "12 1/2 cents trade", that's wild.

Thanx bro ! A little research on this "Bichard" fellow tells us he passed away in 1905. So presumably the token doesn't date to much after that.

Great finds!
The dime is in great condition!
Tom

It's a half-dime. Yeah, it got kissed by mother nature a little. But ... I'll take it. And notice that we are not bothered by pesky "P" mints here on the west coast. Tsk tsk :shifty:

Looks like time well spent with those finds, you have to love the crusty!

Fantastic!!! I’m glad you had a good AZ adventure! What great finds!

Thanx for looking Mark

Thanx Lars. And welcome to FMDF. And .... I never said we were detecting in AZ, eh ? Just that the token was from AZ. Tsk tsk :)
Oh! You are absolutely right! My bad! Glad you had a great adventure! The token is phenomenal...

Great finds. Thanks for sharing. This stuff is so cool! You never know what your going to find, and what you can learn about our history.

What, no Phoenix buttons this time?? Ok, but you still did well. But when a half dime turns up, that's a heck of a good find and not an easy coin to come across either. Congrats and thanks for sharing the journey with us common folks too. John

.... I figure it's because you don't have all those LCs in the way. ...

Well yes. Of course. I mean .... who wants to see pesky LC's and colonial coppers ? They are SSsseeooo boring after all, eh ?

Yes ! The history comes alive to be holding this stuff ! Fun to research, find out about proprietors, etc....

Naahh, not this time. Some CW era eagle buttons, and my friend got a nice flat button. Akin to gilt button style, yet with no marks. Clearly mid 1800s at the newest.

Hey there Mikey, thanx for looking. Didn't say I was in AZ though . Because, shucks, I wouldn't want to pay your 30% commission cut tax. Tsk tsk

Man ya disappoint me! All those awesome finds and not one large cent. Sheese!! :rofl2: Outstanding finds bud, congrats.

Killer finds, ,an you got some old heritage out west. I thought my area was old, but you western guys get all the goods. I’m guessing those gold miners had holes in their pockets.lol. Congrats
