Went to a friends house for a couple of hours today. This place is a 1730’s house and looks like the perfect place to detect. Looks can be deceiving. I’ve been here many times. Haven’t found a lot here. Today was no different. Hunted for several hours. The only good thing I found to day was a copper. She’s worn but I got a ID a draped bust and I think a date of 1803

You sure can find those largies MDM. Congrats on another LC. Maybe a record year for them, sure are off to a good start. What settings have you been using ? Good luck. Mark

Compared to last year I’m off to a slow start on quantity, but quality has been off the charts for me. I just answered the settings question on another post. So I’ll copy it here.

It’s all new to me. The vdi is the only thing that’s close to my old detector. A friend has a 800 so I asked him a lot of questions and read what I could find on the web. What I’m doing now is I use 5 tones because that’s close to my old machine. Out in the open areas I’m run field 1recovery speed 4. This seem to be about the same as my old machine. Where the 900 shines is in the nails. I’m using field 1 recovery speed 8. I started with the small coil, when my first day. Changed to the 11” coil and have had so much success I haven’t had to change. When I’m in the nails I have been going very slow. Been checking every little squeak. I’m digging everything that isn’t a nail signal. Hope this helps. Just get out and start swinging.

Thanks for all of your help mark.
