Over head power Lines

I was in the area of some heavy dutry power line towers this evening. At about 500 feet away I started to get some whacky readings. Must have played with the magnetic field. Any one else ever have this happen to them.

Yep, Ace 250 didn't like them at all. However the MXT doesn't seem to care about them..been detecting directly under a power line without any problems.

Depending on the settings I have in the DFX, power lines will make it go nuts till I back off on some of the settings. Radio towers will cause you fits as well.

Hi Mike, There is a CCC shelter in town and my 6000 and IDX go nuts if I try to hunt there. I haven't tried the MXT. There are power lines there and I noticed a tower for the park district on the building next door. It's got to be one or the other. Rob
