Old Microphone Found....I Think??

Spent a couple of hours out today and hunted a very trashy area that I will not return to. It's back out at the old WWI training camp. Found a structure that looks similar to a chimney. The area I was in has probably been a city picnic are for 60+ years now. The amount of trash above and below ground would make you think it was currently a dump.

The only real find of the day was what appears to be an old microphone and it was half exposed.

I think its an Astatic 200 series microphone, maybe made in the 50's. I'm not real sure and I cannot find much info on it. I've emailed a vintage microphone collector in hopes that he can shed some light.

That a cool looking old microphone.............Too bad that place is so trashy. Looks like it could be a productive place to hunt!

Seems to be a collector item in good condition..it is an Astatic 200-S. If you Google it you'll find quite a few pages about it, mods and various shops selling them etc.

Don, it is a very productive place to hunt, especially if you get deeper into the woods, where not many people venture now, but was open camp space during 1918. Unfortunatly, this spot has been a hot spot for picnicing for the past 50-60 years.

That's a shower head, looks like the one my grandfather had... ..Just kidding of course. That is an interesting find, hope you can dig up some more good stuff....Gil

Yea the cable is still attached. There is actually a spring on the outside of the cable, right at the base.
