OAK ISLAND

Oh, and I must add... the wife and I use the show as a drinking game :beers: each week.

The way it works is, each episode we choose a word (like Templar) or a phrase (like Let's Call Rick) or an action (like every time gary giggles like a little girl) and each time that happens we take a drink/shot whatever the flavor of the night is... one night we chose "Garden Shaft" and they used that phrase like 30 times!

:cool3:
How’d you feel in the morning?

I tried watching an episode last weekend and couldn't finish. I cracked up as I heard "it could be". As much as I love metal detecting and the thought of finding real treasure I just couldn't take it.

:laughing::laughing::laughing:

I still distinctly remember as a kid going through my parents old back issues of Readers Digest. And finding the one, from the 1960s, that had the O.I. article . That article was MOST RESPONSIBLE for starting the modern hoopla ! And I distinctly recall being spellbound by it.

I mean, shucks, who can walk away from that article WITHOUT believing that a fabulous treasure HAS to be there. But shucks, just a little more to the left. A little more to the right. A little deeper.

Isn't there a part where so many people have to die before the treasure is found? Why does that give me the impression that there will be and episode where someone pushes someone in a hole and smiles and says "Any day now we should find the treasure. :bouncy:

The fake lead cross was part of the scripted storyline.

Gary finds cross….teams travels to Europe to castle where templars were held prisoner. One of the team finds a carving on the wall made by templar teeth (or fingernails) according to the script, that matches the lead fishing weight. 😂
Did I ever tell that my great great great Grandpa was 1/3 Templar? The other 2/3 was B.S artist. Just imagine a B.S artist claiming to have the facts.

“Seven must die” is the scripted show legend. Six previously died looking for the treasure, two have died since the show’s beginning (one team member’s son and a show staff member) yet the treasure still didn’t pop out of the ground. Perhaps because 8 died vs. 7?

Folks on the island needed to haul things across a wet area, thus using human ingenuity they made a common roadway out of rocks.
The natives in the area didnt use stone to build roadways and had no reason build them when they can just go around. Plus the road is older than the known population of that area.

It really amazes me how many people need to put the show down, are your lives that meaningless that you feel the need to this? You think the entire thing is BS and thats fine, we understand and more importantly we dont care what you think, just move on...

I say if you enjoy the show and it's entertaining to you then watch it. If I was entertained by such I most certainly would and wouldn't care who said what about it or liked it. Back in the 90's there was this show that was about absolutely NOTHING. Somecfolks didn't like it but I did. But at least they were honest in saying the show was about nothing. You might remember it, it was called Seinfeld.

There are common stone roadways all over the world, especially for areas that are difficult to traverse when wet.

HHhhhmmm, so this can only mean one thing. Right ? Fabulous treasure. Right ? And of course it must be at insane depths which would have taken an army of people to dig, etc.... Right ? And we can be certain of this because of some out of place stones, eh ? There can be utterly no other reason for the stones, other than : Fabulous treasure. Just want to make sure I'm understanding you correctly.

IMO...the show is a lot like American Pickers and Pawn Stars....some of it staged and some of it real. To me it's entertaining.
