Went to a wooded area at a 3-road intersection I have never been to before. I assumed it had some foot traffic due to it having a walking trail. Spent about an hour there and only had a crusty Lincoln to show for it. Lots of trash and shotgun shells so decided to leave and on my walk back to the car I get a nice signal a couple inches down and I see this nice Barber dime. I keep hunting the same area right around my car and end up with the Barber, a 58 Rosie, 1911 Wheat, dateless Buffalo and an 1888 IHP. All less than 20 feet from the car. :cool3: It was a quality, not quantity kinda day.

Some nice old coins there Steve. Great age indicator. Hopefully there are some more in that area. Congrats on Barber, Rosie, Buff, Ihp and wheat. My kind of hunt. I really need to get back out there. Good luck. Mark

HAH! Just goes to show ya, all roads lead to treasure. Well done on getting some silvers and actually finding another good site. Congrats

I see a lot of these "skunked" sites, that end up producing near the car.

From now on, all my new sites are going to be, "Wherever I park my car" :D

Good stuff! Congrats on some really nice finds!

Great day in my book. That Barber looks beautiful!

Steve, I'd say you tapped into one of those good 3-road intersection digging areas...congrats! It must be the year for the Barbers too. John

Looks like you got quality AND quantity there, congrats!

Nice variety going on there, congrats!
Thanks everyone!! Back at the same spot today. First hole was an 1918 Merc, next a 1910 Wheatie and then the mother of all coin spills. I didn't get em all because my knees got tired and it gives me something to do another day. One 65 GW, a clad rosie and a couple hundred pennies. At least another hundred coins still in the dirt. :digginahole:
