My friend Wayne, back in Western Montana, recently pulled his 100th silver coin (and now more) for this year! He runs the Nox 800 and the Manticore, and has done very well on his recent detecting hunts to smash that 100 silver coin mark. Pictures follow of some of his recoveries in the last couple of weeks. He did get the OK to detect a large yard where an old Marcus Daly era willow tree smashed into the front of a beautiful 1906 home, and heavy machinery ripped up the yard. 7 silvers came out of that yard, along with a Buff, "V" nickel, and 2 Indian Head cents. Other neat finds were a spill of 4 coins with wheatie, memorial, Silver Rosie and 1917 worn Merc Dime. A nice Ben Franklin Half! Also got a Merc sandwich of 2 dimes. Congrats Wayne on a great year! Pictures follow of the most recent finds...

Thank you will pass that on! He lives south of Missoula in the Bitterroot Valley, but has detected quite a bit in Zootown and a few small towns south.
Hey, been meaning to ask you, when your knocking on doors in a different town then you live in, do you tell them your from the same town and you are local, ? It just seems that would help you in different places ?

The only thing better than a shiny in the hole is two shinies!
Yep! Had a double Washington Silver Quarter spill recently, quite nice!

Good question. No, I don't do that unless I am actually from that town, even though "being local" can certainly help. I usually don't say unless I am asked, then I do mention where I live, but that I really like detecting in ______ town / city as there are friendly people, lots of neat old homes and places to detect. Being friendly, interacting with the homeowner, stressing taking great care of the front yard grass/dirt, showing interest in the history of the home, etc etc. definitely helps when detecting away from home.
