found this at a new cellar site it was about 6 inches but gave off a solid tone , i knew it would clean up good and boy i wasn't disappointed , i've been told is an officer's cuff button 15mm .i was at the site for only an hour and from the other buttons and stuff it looks very promising , so i'll be definitely hitting it again. thanks for looking. Very nice find. I do believe that all officer's buttons were distinguished by having a rim around the edge. Steve i nso az

My son found a civil war eagle button last week end. It wasnt an infintry button but still a nice find for a 8 year old. He was all smiles!

Great find Del. Opps! I didn't read the title LOL.

Hit that area hard. You may find a plate or buckle.

Good luck and keep us posted.

It's so dry here in Virginia, digging is just about impossible. I did manage to pluck a Gardner bullet out yesterday.

Nice Guild on that one..

Man, that's in good shape. Bet that one didn't come out of any red dirt..Must be rich soil. Congrats!!
