Wow, when this gorgeous lady came up, I didnt know what to think!
I went to a local park after work yesterday and searched all over the "regular" areas of the park, the footpaths and other common areas, not finding much. The whole time I was thinking about a hunting strategy I have heard so many times over, that being "get off the beaten path..." Yeah, yeah I know I kept telling myself. But hunting in the open is so much easier though!
Working back toward the car because night was going to fall soon, I decided to give in to my own personal nagging and work a brushy, woody spot that I had my eye on before. 3 MINUTES LATER I had in hand the gorgeous 1910 V Nickel below!
I couldnt believe I found this coin! What was even more out of the ordinary, it was only about half an inch deep! Thats right not even an inch! The ACE250 pinpointed with only 2 inches (Minimum) to dig. As soon as my trowel hit the dirt, out hops Lady Liberty. Of course I was thinking it was a Jefferson, I soon saw the stars and my pulse quickened. It was right up against a large tree, giving reason for the shallow depth.
The coin has a stong full Liberty, nearly all hairlines and aside from the peculiar green stripes, is in great shape!
I am now hooked on pushing into the overgrowth!
