Military Relic?

Can someone help me out on this item? Better pictures to follow but, it was found in northwest georgia near where the fighting 6th cavalry was for many years.

Iam In a Cav Unit and Iam 99% sure That is not from the 6th Cav. Nice find!

It could be a rosette that goes on each side of a horse bridle. Whats the back look like? That would help a lot. Nice find.
