Military eagle button

Dug this button today, a large coat button, 2 piece gold in color( after soaking ) it is in excellent condition.
Can someone date this button ?
Also 2 wheats 1950s & 1917s.

It looks like an Army Button from 1875-1902, hard to give an accurate date as the design didn't change often. The C. Kenyon Company was incorporated 1893, so this narrows the date some. Yours looks like a Raise Lined Shield Button(1875-1902), not a Great Seal Button(1902-present), as it doesn't have that circular feature about the eagle's head, which is included in the Great Seal. Yours must have been an early button for the C. Kenyon Company. I don't don't any more than what I was able to research, so, someone who has access to better resources might be able to give you more information. Anyway, great find and congrats!

Mike the Button does predate WW1 and looks to be a close fit to what was utilized in the late 1890's. Possibly in the Spanish-American War of 1898. Anyway great recovery and a very fine hunt. Trapper
