Finally, the temps for the next week are supposed to be in the upper 40's and mid 50's. That means it is snow detecting time at the ski hills. They will probably shut down the ski hills to downhill due to things turning to ice. Wife and I will be out there searching the bottom of the slope into the flats. I will dig everything except iron signals. May not get much, but you never know. WOO HOO! About time.

We supposed to hit 65 on Sunday and Monday be nice to get rid of the snow and piles of it every where sick of looking at it.

Good luck with your hunt. It's supposed to be in the 50's here toward the end of the week but there's still too much snow cover for me to even think about getting in a hunt.

Oh I'll be hunting right in the hardpack snow on the slopes. Probably still at least a three-foot base. I'm gonna work on the top layer for the things dropped on downhill mishaps. I won't even be able to touch the bare ground till April. Work one layer, let it melt for a few days and hit it again.

I've spent considerable time just sitting in the parking lot watching the skies as they shush downhill. I would say 90-95% make good runs from top to bottom. It's that 5-10% that have a tough time reaching the bottom in the upright position and that is the ones I watch the most. Usually a mishap happens near the bottom of the slope where they pick up speed and then lose it. So, in answer to your question, I concentrate on that last 30 ft. of slope where it starts to flatten out. Now, contrary to that is the ski resort builds jumps so I also search the approach to and just after where they land.
