Made too much money%$#&^

Still beats a refund the way I see it, because the money’s worth more in my paycheck and I could invest it, there’s been many years where I’ve had to pay in. A buddy received a refund of over $10k, he could have spent it while it was worth more or invested it. Instead, he gave an interest free loan back to you-know-who. He’s a saver and the refund wasn’t crucial for living expenses, but he’s using the $ for a vacation fund.

KT certainly understands the situation…the first year of retirement KT neglected to have anything taken out of the incoming funds, and the Queen was greatly upset that the Royal family owed over 8K in taxes, but KT knew this was coming, using that first year to judge how much to have withheld for both the feds and the state. The funds were saved back to pay that first years taxes. Since that time, we have gotten enough back annually to pay for both the Castle’s insurance and the local County tax assessment each year.

Bummer Metal. I need to do my taxes but have had to pay the last few years and figure this one won't be much different. The state seems to like to bend me over a bit more than Uncle Sam, and it seems more difficult to have extra state withholding than federal to me anyway

Either way it sucks!

I'm all too happy giving the gooberment the absolute minimum and paying at the end of the year. Takes a little discipline however.

I've worked it fine for 30 years. Most years I'm at a break even on my taxes a few times I've had to pay in a couple of hundred, but for the most part I come to where I don't get a return, but I don't pay in either. It's mostly the years that they make tax law changes I end up paying in.

Took me 3 years before I got my tax withheld right so I broke even at the end of the year. I increased my 401k contribution and started claiming my home as an office. I did just as much remote support for physicians as I did at work at the hospital, so I could write off my desk, chairs, etc.

I always have to pay, but I do all I can to get out of as much as possible. Still, they always get me pretty good. I hate having to pay them though, because they suck so bad at their job where I live. It feels like paying someone to mess everything up.

Turns out my wife got hacked and we needed a pin # from the IRS. Still waiting for it. Luckily we don't have to file till Oct 16th!

This will be my first year since I started in 1969 not to file. It is my understanding, god I hope I was told correctly, that filing jointly, the wife & I and make less than $25,000 off my social security only. No other income. We had no taxable income and do not need to file a return.
