Yesterday was 33 degrees and winds at 10 mph but I went because I know I most likely won't get out again as the Lake Assoc. is closing the dam today. Plus temps are headed down.
Not many good signals to dig today as I hit an area that we have hunted hard.
I did manage a 1916 merc dime and a sterling ring. I also recovered a foot long knife which I brought home and cleaned up. Surprised at how nice the stains came off the blade; which is still sharp.
Murder weapon.....perhaps, as it was sleeping with the fishes. :chaplin:

Nice finds CharlieT! Those lake hunts have sure produced some good stuff! Do they lower the lake each year, if so, hope you pull more nice finds in the future!

Congrats on the merc and sterling ring - not a bad way to end the year if that was your last hunt. My last hunt also ended with silver, a bucket lister. I'll post in a few days when I get some free time.

Excellent last hunt in my book. Merc is in great shape, and that is a great kitchen knife. I have two smaller versions of that blade, and they are my go-to knife. Well done.

Is that a J.A. Henckles knife? If so, that is top quality. I couldn't read the writing. I own several of the Four Star II models. They are expensive and hold an edge. Great find.

It sure is. It cleaned up great and the edge was in need of only a slight touch up. Its in my counter top knife block now. 😝
