I spent two hours hunting a small park and dug $2.92 in clad plus a large copper piece but after cleaning it with a toothpick to get the dirt and green crust off it, I still can't tell what it is because there's absolutely no detail left on it whatsoever. It may have been a Large Cent or a Colonial copper coin.

I'd lose the money I'd have to spend on the steel wool. I looked at this thing with a high powered magnifying glass and there's not even a hint of detail.
I had one that had a hole in the center and was crusted bad. I steelwool'd the crap out of it and finally saw a matron head.

All good finds Ed. Being as you can see nothing definitive on the coin, then it is whatever you say it is. Well done my friend.:rofl2::waytogo:

I'd bet kg ..they always seem thinner then a largie even with some details left..how old was the park ? Was that just a lucky find or was it an older park??
I'm leaning toward a KG also. I'm not sure about the age of the park but it's in an older looking neighborhood with a lot of houses from the late 1800's to early 1900's. The park is on the small side compared to most.
