Made a detour after work to Compo Beach Ct which has some revolutionary war history, and has been known to cough up old coins, bullets, and buttons. Just happened to be low tide, so I wandered down into the rocks and cobble. The very first signal, a low conductor around 16, popped up my very first ring find with the Manticore. Turned out to be a fake Cartier Love ring, which retails for around $2100 if real……..keep swinging!

You say it's a "fake" Cartier, but it's still real gold, right ?
I don’t think so Tom, it didn’t have the weight I would expect for a gold ring, nor does it have a Karat marking on the inside. I’m on the road for work, so don’t have a gold tester with me. It was right at the low tide edge, so has been underwater quite a bit, as nobody has been swimming in Connecticut for awhile I would think, as it’s getting cold here.
