Got out for four hours this morning. Ring came up a solid 40 on the Legend. I figured it was a deep Penny. My heart skipped when I saw the color. It’s not marked but sure looks and feels right. Gonna take it in to get tested. Happy hunting and God bless y’all.

Looks like it. 40 vdi is upper limit of Legend gold but possible for a chunky ring. Good luck on the ID!!

Test kit came in, unfortunately without the 10kt acid. This is what I got.

First check: a magnet. But I think cellrdwellr is right about a long worn 10K

I could be wrong but old gold/silver wasn’t always marked?

I don’t think it was required in the U.S. until 1906 to have purity marks. Makers marks were even later, 1961 maybe.
