also whats the difference between huntin on dry and wet sand (sensitivity wise)with it
(as ive read about how its not a beach detetcor but I find it ok on the sand found a good few coins with it.

Welcome to the forum first of all . I use a Ace 250 here in Misssouri and it works real good in our soil don't have to touch the sensitivity much around here , I do use the sniper coil on it most of the time . If I decide to hunt a bigger field then I put the standard one back on I have both coils already mounted on a section of bottom shalf tubing so just unscrew the cable and slip one out and slide the other one in and screw the cable in . As far as the beach I can't help you there cause its 1200 miles to a beach from here I do believe , sorry . I hope you enjoy your Ace as much as I do mine , its a real good machine for the price . HH Harold

It certainly is a good machine. Although mine has been relegated to being used as a backup, I wouldn't get rid of it.

As a newbie, I've got one.

Found about $6 in clad in 5 outings. Still a bit concerned about the depth, found only one coin lower than 3 inches (a penny at 7'' in a tot lot). Generally deep signals have been junk or toy cars (which I leave at the tot lots/sandboxes for the kids).

Great surface machine in any case. Still need to spend more time at older sites to see about the depth, tho the tot lots and parks are good practice for now.

My Ace has been real good to me. In wet beach sand it will go nutts on you. I have hunted on fresh water wet sand and no prob.

the wife has one

bought one for my wife last week and so far so good. ive hunted with it a little bit and i really like it. took a little while to get used to the pinpointing. havent used it on wet sand yet, but so far, thumbs up.

I am currently using the Garrett ACE 250 and is working really good for me. I went hunting at a river today and found a Sacagawea $1 coin and 4 quarters in wet, white sand. I have only used my mdr 4 or 5 times and it is working good for me. I would like to get a sniper coil for it though. So, that I can use it in trashy areas and it would be easier to pinpoint items. freshwater... no problems... saltwater... stick in the dry sand... it goes cuckooo for cocoapuffs...lol I have one and love it.... but unfortunately, it can't keep up with my DFX, so I use it as a backup or let someone I want to hunt with or get started in detecting use it. It's a great starter machine that you can learn alot with and really enjoy hunts!

Got one. Love it. Finding tons of stuff. It paid for itself in less than 6 months of use. Did I mention I love it? I don't kiss it, like some people do........

just got mine last friday still getting to know it. got the back yard cleaded up now trying some local parks and camp grounds. machine is good the problem i have is a short between the headsets.

Got one as well, my first detector since I had one the mid 90's.. I've had a great time so far!!

Love it

I have one for my son. I have a Minelab SE. I'll still use the 250 at totlots when I want simplicity. It hasn't left anything behind--verified with the Minelab.

I'm moving to beach country in a few weeks so I'll have a chance to test it there then.
