Hoping to get an ID on a button I found last weekend. This was found at a Civil War related site near Kansas City - also found a couple fired CW era bullets within 10 to 15 feet of this.

Seems to be a cuff button, 0.6" in diameter. Can't really get any detail off the back, I guess it's a 2 piece button? It might have "dots" around the edge on the back.

The front reminds me of some of the state buttons in general design, but I can't seem to find a match. The shield/ crest in the middle has 3 stars at the top. There is some filigree above and below, might be some sort of animal on either side of the crest. Missouri buttons had bears, but these look to have longer tails - lions? Also there is something at the top going at a 45 degree angle - maybe a sword?

Hoping someone just knows it when they see it. I'm stumped. Appreciate any help!
