My friend and I were able to meet up for some detecting along the shoreline of the Ohio River. He found an Indian Head penny and I found an 1888 seated dime and an 18?1 Morgan silver dollar. The Morgan needs a lot of intense cleaning.

I would be jumping outta my skin to find a seated *anything*. Way to go!
And I don't know if I would even try to dig a silver dollar. I'd probably assume it's a crushed can. Lol
Great job taking the chance on it!

Great job on the seated and the Morgan and good luck on the cleaning. Was just talking to my brother today about me having never found a silver dollar. But I have found an 8 Reale so I guess that’s a rarer find.

You may not be able to get a date off that Morgan, but : It still counts as a silver dollar, to merit an "atteboy".
Here on the East Coast AKA "The Land of Big Coppers" it's "attAboy ! The next time you post a comment about some East Coaster finding a Large Cent please give him an attAboy spelled correctly. Thank you in advance.

I went back to my river spot this morning. It did not disappoint as I found an 1840s large cent. It is difficult to see the last digit in the year. It was laying against a sandstone block at the water’s edge.
