Garrett VX9 possible major flaw(s) with latest version software.

Garrett’s decision not to allow downgrading to previous firmware versions is yet another display of their lagging behind the competition as well as the times.
Ineptitude & Incompetence at its finest. Sources say their workforce has completely changed. They knowingly pushed this through out of the gate. And this is the end result. Has anyone who ever bought one of these had a problem free machine for 3+ months ? The fish stinks from the head down....

As much as I've tried to support the Vortex, I have to say that not giving the option to revert back to a preview version was lame.
You are right, no reverting to old firmware is lame. So is continuing to sell a defective product for a month and counting after the problem is known. So is not addressing the public or dealers concerning the issues and giving assurance that a fix is being worked on with an approximate timeline. I just want people to get what they paid for and a company that will address an issue with customers in a timely manner. (and yes, I am one of those customers.)

It has been defective from the get go . sube

I mentioned the report of dumpster fire at 1881 W. State St. Garland, TX months ago. It's obviously spread to the building now. I wouldn't doubt it burning the company to ground or at least the hobby detector division before it's put out. I pretty much quit going over to the other forum because of the illogical support for Garrett and this detector. I get the feeling had this been a non-American company for example like Nokta with a detector with these kind of problems they would not have treated the company with such kid gloves. I'm not for ruthlessly bashing any company, but this detector and the roll out has been nothing short of a total fail.

As I remember the get go you are referring to was clear back in the testing phase when testers were telling the company the machine had problems and the company didn't listen and rushed it to market... Well, what I mean by rush to market was actually Rush/Delay/ Rush/Delay/ Rush/ Delay.........FINALLY rolled out (Should have waited longer to roll out) ROLL OUT. If I remember correctly.

You misread or misunderstood. Enjoy your online forum life.
I read your post more than twice to determine if I was misinterpreting it, but the post was about as clear as Pink Floyd lyrics. Looks like at least six other members also shared my struggles, but ultimately interpreted it as I did.

Care to clarify?

Recently decided to try out the Vortex. I like the Vortex and have already made some decent finds. I put all my machines through the same testing and I did noticed immediately that the reset cycle on the machine is very slow and is probably related to the more recently uncovered issues. Not going to bash Garrett as most new detectors have roll out issues but wont feel so kind if they do not get this straight as it renders the machine unusable for an experience digger.
