My wife found an interesting object over the weekend. I thought it might be fun to see if anyone can identify it. Below is a picture of the BACK, as the front gives it away.

There is a clue on the back. It's about the size of a nickel with a similar VDI reading. Was found in a park about 4" deep.

There are some really good slueths on here and I'll bet someone id's it quickly. If not, I'll post the picture of the front along with a little narrative later in the week.

Hope you enjoy.

This is a though one to track down. If I had to guess I would say its some type of Pirate game play coin. The Fleur De Lis and Islamic symbol are throwing me off though.

GeneralWalton Wins!!!

Good work General!

It is the ULTIMATE goal in a little known game entitled: "Pirateer" I've never even seen the game, but researched it after she found the coin.
Here's the link: http://www.pirateer.com/

The game is evidently played with dice and a board. The coin (there's only one per game set) represents the "Treasure" that must be recovered from Skull Island (or something like that) and returned to the player's home port.

Like other finds, my question is: "Just how the heck did such an obscure item from such an obscure "game" end up in a park in California?"

Below is a picture of the front of the "Treasure" coin, along with a very fuzzy copy of the game itself.

Thanks for playing. CONGRATULATIONS GENERALWALTON!!!!! The next time you're in Los Gatos, California, I'll buy you a beer.

Why not in a California park? The company that made the game is located in Mendocino. :D

Still, a very unusual find.

You can't offer me free beer, it is one of my weaknesses! I will gladly spend hundreds of dollars and spend multiple days driving cross country for that free beer.
