Headed back to the area along the river that has been very good to me in the past. I have found 3 KG II Half Pennies and most recently a KG II Farthing minted in 1734 in this same general area. This is a dig-it-all type spot with little modern trash but good potential for something really cool.

I'm swinging my recently acquired Equinox 900 with the 6 inch coil in an area where the vegetation is growing back fast with the arrival of spring. Got a nice tight signal that rang up 37 from all directions. Have to dig it and I was curious as to what it could be. Sounded good even though a relatively low number.

Removed the plug and pulled a gloved handful of soil out and there it was, about 4 inches deep. I think it is made from a tombac type alloy as it cleaned up very easily with just a rub.

It was quite the thrill to find, knowing how old it is and the clothing fashion it is part of. Another good find for the 900! I have found shoe buckles before, but a knee buckle was a very satisfying first. Thanks for reading along! Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for sharing! Learned something I didn't know (I'm very new to this). I wondered what the heck a knee buckle was and did a search. Cool to learn these things.

Sweet buckle MSCguy, congrats on the save. Great spot you've got there. Good luck on your return. Mark

Grats, nice find! I think I found a knee buckle myself a few weeks ago, but it's got rust in the center...I might post an image soon so I can confirm.
