Nice 60 degree day today, so I went back to one of my old spots deep in the woods. Dug a few shotgun shells and one coin in two hours of hunting. Very good coin, though! It's an 1883 IHC in amazing condition. It was about 6 inches deep and rang up in the low 70's. Took it home and soaked it in hydrogen peroxide for about 15 minutes and then toothpicked the remaining crud off. Came out really nice, but I'll probably work on the reverse a little more later tonight. This puppy must have been dropped in the 1880's because it has almost no wear at all.

My insitu pics were all blurry, but I did shoot a short video. Even that wasn't great, but better than nothing!

Thanks, guys! It was very crusty coming out of the ground. Tried to toothpick it, but crud was too hard, so I had to soak it in the hydrogen peroxide to soften it up. Probably the best condition IHC I've ever found.

WOW ! That is one very crisp looking Ihp. Cleaned up real nice as well. Congrats on the save. Next to a silver coin the Ihp is my favorite find. Good luck.
