I found these within 100' of each other on an old trail in the woods.
The land is behind the center of town dating from the 1700's.
The coin is hard to make out but it says Britannia with a lady sitting down. The other side is almost completely gone. But I see the face looking to the right and there is letters around the whole coin at the edge.
I think it says 1772? Could it be a MACHIN'S MILLS HALFPENNIE?

Here's a pic.

The two musket balls one shot and one dropped.

Look at the hole in the center, what would cause that? Was it a hollow point ball?

Most muzzle loaders have a screw on one end of the ram rod. I case of a mis-fire, the screw can screwed into the lead ball and pulled out.

Went back today and found another musket ball, 1 1907 IH 37 and 57 wheat pennies and a big coin that registered quarter, dug it up from 6" heart was racing, put it in olive oil and waited until I got home.
After much heart racing gentle dirt removal it was a 1979 clad quarter!!
