Hi all,

I'm still trying to figure out how to post my pictures-too tired to try again tonight after our hunt at the Park.

I have been detecting for a couple of months, mostly with a Bounty Hunter Quick draw that I got for my birthday....and which served to get me addicted! I just bought an M 6, and today March 14, 2008 I found my very first silver-a 1923 Mercury Dime! I have found several wheats, but no silver until today. Quite exciting! There is no comparison between detectors-I love the M 6!

Well Todd, congratulations on your find. The March date makes me suspect you are trying to post a picture, but it didn't take. By now you probably know that to upload, you click on that paper-clip icon, specify the file name in the new window, and upload it. If you're not sure if the upload worked or not, before submitting the post, press the Preview Post button instead. Then you'll see what the real post will look like, and if your upload worked or not.

One thing to try is taking pictures with less resolution. Find the resolution setting on your camera, bring it down to almost the lowest setting, take a picture, upload it to the computer, them try uploading it to the forum. It might work. (But remember to reset the resolution back to where it was before you take regular pictures.) If you are using a scanner to scan your coin, you will need to bring the DPI setting down to keep the image size down.

Don't give up.

My camera won't go low enough for uploads and that caused me lots of problems in the begining. If you are getting the "to large" message, open the picture with "paint" which is on every computer sold with windows, and under IMAGE, select STRETCH / SKEW and change values to 50% and try again. You may be having a differnt problem but that is the one that always gets me. I am hoping to find a garage sale camera that is old enough to take crappy pics. My current one starts at 7.2megapixels, and does not go down enough to load without shrinking, so hence I don't post pic's of my finds much.
