This ended my silver slump👍
Also it was dug at a baseball field near a fence..
I said "alright!" When I saw sterling on the back!

If you want to know where to find a high ratio /percentage of those sterling silver medallions, simply hit parochial school yards. Those from the 1940s/50s, have lots of them.

Unfortunately we don't have schools from the 40s or 50s that aren't redone or demolished .

The parochial school I went to, in grade school here in my town, was built in 1959. So naturally, when I got into md'ing (in about 8th grade), I took my first detector to that school . And in addition to the normal clad and silver coins (lost @ early 1960s), I recall getting many of the sterling St. Christopher type medals.

Another place where they tend to get found, is if you have any retreat / camp grounds in your area, where Catholic conferences etc... went on.
