I've been out digging regularly but haven't had a lot of time to post stuff. Today was eventful and so I am taking the time to post. I was hitting this later 1800s property where I recently renewed a permission I had years ago. Homeowners told me it had been pounded then. But I've had the Deus for about three years now and I was using the AT Pro then, so I thought I'd have a technological advantage. I also tried to hit the fringes of the site and maybe squeak out something good. I also prayed for something worth finding, and my prayers were answered.
About an hour or so in, I got an 88 on the Deus. I figured it would be a memorial penny or a wheat. Got it out and saw it was silver. Was very excited and a bit emotional when I saw it was a seated dime. I have been looking for one for years. I've dug lots of Barbers and even a Capped Bust half dime but never a seated anything. And this one is very nice, probably a healthy VF.
To top it off, I found a silver thimble about half an hour later, with initials and engraved images of houses that I would guess is also later 1800s.
It was a good day.
