First ever Silver and IHP in consecutive days!

I have been into the hobby for about two years now. I’ve had good days finding relics and a few wheats here and there but never had I found anything that compares to my past two consecutive digs!
Digging a very early 1900s home and I landed my first ever silver! Both coins (1908 O Barber Half, 1904 P Barber Qusrter) came from the same plug and were stuck together. What a rush!
Went out the next day to another location and popped out my very first IHP on a small strip of grass next to a sidewalk. It cleaned up well and turned out to be a 1901.
I know these aren’t that significant to an experienced detectorist but being the first for me they are pretty special!

Wow! Those are great finds that any detectorist would be excited about. In fact, last year in my 10th year of detecting I found my first Barber Half, also a 1908 "o". Having the Quarter stuck to it makes it a little extra special.

I had a buddy do the same thing one time. Barber half and Barber quarter touching. Almost 6 years in and no Barber half for me yet. You knocked a couple of Barbers off the list in one hole. The dime will come much easier. Barber halves are not that common. Good job!

What you have to realize is people have been detecting a very long time, and the majority of the "easy" silver finds have probably been found. These days you have to work harder to get silver. You just did that with these finds. Barbers are, to me one of the most beautiful coins ever minted. And to find two stuck together is over the top cool. Big congrats on the Barbers and IHP.:waytogo:

I never found two silver coins stuck together like that, or two in the same hole for that matter..And barbers aren’t an easy find for some reason, so I’d say you’re doing great. Congrats on the pair, and the ihp

Barber half and Barber quarter took me 4 years, you did it in one plug lol! And the IHP is icing on the cake. Nice condition too!

OH hell Yeah ! It don't get much better than that. Congrats on the Barber quarter and half as well as the Ihp. Great way to get the silver train rolling. Still looking for my first Barber half. Hopefully you can go back over the place, definitely more there. Good luck. Mark

Very Nice!!! Congrats!!!

welcome to the exclusive & elite silver coin club and IH club. You gained entry to 2 clubs in a single hunt. Nice job !

That's a great find no matter how long one's been at the hobby. A barber half is still on my bucket list. Congrats!!

Well I spent another hour or so in the same yard and it rewarded me with three more coins that are firsts for me! If this year keeps progressing like it has from the start then I am going to have a lot of bucket listers checked off the list in no time! Very grateful for what this yard keeps turning out after only about 3 hours total on it.

The property is a local yard and home with history attached to it. The property was occupied initially by the parents of and later by a famous political figure and newspaper editor in my area. (I have family that owns and lives at the property now and have exclusive access to it so I am not afraid of sharing the history or location. I have told the family to keep all of you dogs out of it!)
I have gathered quite a bit of history on the property and the people that owned it since it was first occupied in the late 1800s. I am planning on putting a post together that tells the story a little less vaguely but for now I have attached photos of the three coins it produced on my latest dig there and a photo of everything it has graced me with to this point. This yard has never been detected and I suspect it still holds a few surprises that I hope to uncover this year! Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to comment and appreciate these finds as much as I have!

The latest three coins:
1. 1917 Mercury Dime
2. 1899 Morgan Silver Dollar
3. 1897 Liberty Head (V Nickel)

The last photograph shows the 1908 Barber Half, 1904 Barber Quarter (found paired together), and some wheaties (1930, 1944, 1956), along with the recent finds.

Again thank you for sharing in this humbling experience!
