Hey guys, did the update this morning and had time to try it between projects. Stopped at a park I've never found silver coins in and 1st coin is silver. I will be back here. About 10" deep. Place I've gone over so many times. I've dug square nails in plugs with other modern coins here.

One thing you ARE going to find for sure is even you have gone over a place a thousand times, I guarantee you have missed something. It's just the way it is with detecting. I'm not questioning your hunting capabilities it's just the nature of the beast. I do a lot of gridding and I'll be danged if I didn't go back over a gridded area and find a silver. Go figure. When You hear someone say an area is never hunted out, LISTEN to them.:waytogo:

The new audio feature of high square enhances deep targets. I didn't toggle to the other audio features to see what they sounded like over the same target though. This park should have more silver coins at depth and in the patches of iron. They did a scrape a year ago and a friend found an 1850's $1 gold. The place has been relentlessly hunted and gridded for decades.

I agree with that. I’ve been to an old supposedly hunted out park near my house, and virtually every time visiting, still find at least a wheatie, but sometimes IHPs, Buffs or some other decent coins in addition to clad. I hit the same areas, but I scan them from different directions, and try different setups on my Legend. The angles, soil conditions and setup reveal things that were missed on a different day under different conditions. I don’t think anyplace is hunted out anymore.

I can't wait to get out with the new update. The videos I've seen seem to show much improved VDI stability and accuracy at depth. My most wanted ability as a cherry-picker. I am also curious what the new full tones off set will do in my tot lots in telling the paper clips & bobby pins from small jewelry like chains.

This is strictly opinion. Places are probably never hunted out, but they are hunted out to the point of diminishing returns vs. time spent trying to eek out the last silver coin. I have pulled silvers from places I thought were pretty much hunted out myself. Sometimes it's the detector. Other times it's the guy swinging the detector. Sometimes it's just being lucky. I have some places that are so hunted out they are now relegated to only hunted when I have no absolutely no where else to go. I've got a standing bet with a couple of guys to find one more silver at a certain park. We all have the latest detectors, and are very competent with them. No one has found it yet.

Absolutely correct. However there is one common denominator, you HAVE to get the coil over the target to make it work. :waytogo:

First short hunt at the volleyball court was interesting. Not to get too far ahead on my opinion yet, but WOW, what a difference. I felt the Deus 2 was like a new detector. I found 3 earring backs in the same sand we have hunted a lot. They were 3"-4" and sounded very good. The last thing I expected was something so small. Still working on how I like the Off Set.

I felt there was a very notable increase in depth. Several of the targets I recovered were well below the sand and in the original dirt. They gave a very solid and correct VDI, but nothing but pull tabs. I hope to try it in the city park where I know there are very deep coins and see if it can get between that iron with a good VDI at extreme depth.

I just had to know. I took the D2 down to the city park, loaded up the factory DEEP HC, and bumped the discrimination up to 85, and started swinging. Within 5 minutes I had a signal with junk all around but hitting mostly a VDI in the 90s. Dug down and popped out a 1941 merc. I am very happy with the update so far.

I can't wait until I can put in some hunting time. I was there for a total of 20 minutes with the vast majority being getting down to that coin. It was only about 7", but somehow we had missed it all these years. I give credit to the update. The signal sounded great, like usual, but the difference was the VDI was yelling SILVER, instead of the usual 06-08.
