Failure of the USPO

Last week I received a package that was 2 weeks late. It arrived at the local USPS regional distribution center (again, only 20 miles away) four different times and was promptly sent to 4 different locations, none of them my local post office. Fifth time was the charm. Now 3 packages were supposed to arrive today. All three went through the regional distribution center over the weekend. One made it to my post office and is out for delivery today. One is in the Boston area distribution center. The other is in transit to the next location, wherever that may be. It's been a long time since I was in grade school, but I don't think 33% is a very good grade.

KT royally concurs with your conclusion, bobinwmass!

I ordered 30 ounces of silver in December. It was shipped via USPO with tracking and signature required. I received an update that package was out for delivery. I asked my son if he had plans before going to work that evening and if not could he please hang around the house to sign for my silver and he was kind enough to agree.

Our mail usually comes around 11, but we have been given a laundry list of excuses between subs having to do our route do to the current lazy mail delivery lady that just tosses packages next to my barn rather than walk a dozen steps to my covered farmers porch, to nobody showed up and the latest was now the postmaster was delivering mail.

Anyway.... we have a driveway alarm to let us know when someone pulls in. My son said the alarm went off, he got off the couch and put on a pair of slides to head out and meet the delivery driver. He said by the time he got to the door the mail van was pulling out. No knock on the door, no horn beep just pulling out. He walked to the end of the driveway to check the mailbox and sure enough we had a pick up slip.

I didn't even bother going home to get the slip as I know one of the women behind the counter quite well. I stopped on my way home from work and explained what happened and if my package had returned from the lazy mail persons route yet. She went and checked the GPS for me and told me where I could probably find him. Turns out it was the postmaster and his son had a basketball game that day. I tracked him down about 5 miles from my house explaining he had a very expensive package (2300.00 worth of rounds) and I'd like to take it home with me. I've only met him once before so I can't say I "know him" and he sure as hell doesn't know me. He just handed it over and I asked " would you like to see my ID?" No you're all set you knew the address.

I was beyond pissed, but just let it go. The woman behind the counter told me he has no business being a postmaster but "he was the only one that wanted the job". I guess the moral of my story and the above others is an abundance of Postal workers seem to be quite lazy with an broken give a damn about their government job.

WOW! I would say that Post Master should be reported to the Main Office!
