These quarters finds just don't stop coming, nor do I want it to. Today, in the freezing cold wet snow and rain, I adventured out to one of two of my favorite locations that has been fueling my addiction since mid last year. Again, the baseball/sports field pays off with an additional 67 quarters.

I was focusing on mid-lower-tones hoping to find a gold ring. Did not find any rings just 35 rusty nickels.

I know I have said semi-recently my goal was to find 3,500 quarters from both locations combined, well, today I exceeded it by 14 more quarters. Now, I'm going to go hog wild and shoot for a goal of 4,000 quarters Grand Total just from these two location before year's end. I only need like 486 more quarters. I'm presently at 3,514.

I found these coins today within 3 1/2 hours. What helped, was that I worked the fence line and a very steep hillside hard.

It sure is nice to know that there are still some prosperous locations still out there waiting to be discovered.

Thanks again for checking out my latest update on the field that never stops giving!

And the beep goes on and the beep goes on :walker: Man will that place ever runout of coins John ? That got be some kind of record. Congrats on mega clad haul once more. Did you ever find when this place opened ? is it still ? Good luck. Mark

:wow2: That's a lot of quarters!

Thanks Wolf-Dog! I'm just hoping I can still find many more. But I feel the window of opportunities are closing in. John
Unbelievable!! You just keep on killing it. Congrats John!

Steve

Thanks Steve! Even though I have not gone out that much this year, the days that I have sure have been productive for at least in the clad targets. I'm hoping the weather turns favorable again, so I can return to the "field of endless quarters" again. John

Thanks Mark! I think if I would put in a full eight hour shift of hunting at my best remaining sports field I'd probably score about $50 p/d. I know it's insane to say the least. Its a once in a life-time-kind of location/s. I'm just hoping I can still get a few more days in before I get cut-off from one reason or another. Just this year I pulled in a few hundred quarters from this location. It seems this placed opened in the late '70s and it had been used also for those transient type carnivals. But before that, it looks like it had been an open undeveloped field. What is interesting, is that the deepest coins found were the nickels and dimes. From all the nickels I was finding I was really hoping to find a goldie no such luck this time. Thanks again stopping in! John

Anytime!!! Keep having a Blast!!

I'm very happy you raised your expectations on the Quarter count from those 2 sites John. They may not come as fast as they did but I'm pretty sure you will hit that new target and again have to raise a bit more.Clad to see you chasing the mid tones although I have not found to many rusty Nickels, just a awful lot of crusty ones. You stay on those numbers and sounds and the Gold will show. Again another big congrats on putting the hurt on those Quarters. Trapper

Thanks Trapper! I am pretty much just down to one of my favorite locations, the other seems to have dried up like desert. At last count I'm now at 3,573 quarters in less than 12 months. I was really trying to find a piece of gold, the only consolation prize I was getting were a bunch of rusty nickels. Each year, at least for me, I'm finding less and less gold and the same with silver too. However, sterling is still holding it own in the numbers game. As always, thanks for stopping by as to check out my bread and butter finds! John

So when you say baseball fields etc - are you hitting the grass or specific areas like the stands? Or just gridding the entire thing off and smashing it?

I'm basically hitting the grass areas as there are no stands. Also, the chain link fence lines, outfield homerun fence and the very steep graded hillsides where spectators would sit. As time allows, I will grid it and work more slowly, that's where the nickels come in at.

Had another killer day today. Racked up an additional 88 more quarters from this one location in four hours. New grand total is now from this of two location/s is 3,661. I averaged $6.75 p/h after finding $27.00+ in clad.

Thanks Mark! Actually, no, I squat when I dig as I find it very ergonomic and and efficient way to dig. As long as these quarters keep coming, I'll be going back and digging for more! So far this year just basically from this location I've recovered hundred of quarters and dimes so far. Its been an out-of-mind experience for me and I'm not complaining! John

Appreciate it - I ask because I've never tried a baseball field. But I will

Guys, as you can imagine, I went back today to my true main honey hole again. Yes, 39 more quarters for a new grand total of 3,400 quarters exactly. I'm getting closer to my goal of 3,600 only 200 more to go. And this is all within less than 12 months. With these warmer days recently have certainly helped the cause. It's a one of a kind location! Thanks again for your comments!
