I had two days off and went detecting on both days. It's been raining a lot during the afternoons lately, so I've been hunting around morning and dusk. The first day I tried a new spot just one county over. Found a cool sterling ring with a cracked band, probably dating back to the 1950s. Nothing more there to be found there, other than a handful of clad, but my hunt was cut short by a thunderstorm. I'll definitely be going back!

The second day it rained a lot, only allowing me a few brief minutes at some spots nearby. Nothing but clad, though my quarter count has now almost reached 500!

Then today, I went to the grocery store before work, and I checked the Coinstar on a whim. Therein lay Three silver dimes!!! My second biggest Coinstar recovery ever, in terms of silver coins. There was also a 1932 wheat and a 5 pence coin left there for me. Ran aside, it was a nice couple of days, blessed by some sweet silver. Good luck and happy hunting all

I'm being completely sincere when I ask this...... What do you mean "checked coin star"? Do you purchase change from it hoping to find silver that someone has turned in? Are they leaving it behind because the coin star machine won't except silver? I honestly don't know, but I want to "check coin star" at my local super market if you guys find silver at the rate you do.

When he says checked coin star he means he is looking in the reject tray. Many times people dump coins in the machine and then forget to check the lower reject tray.
The machine rejects coins that are not the correct weight, size, etc. Silver coins get rejected as they are outside of the weight tolerance.
