Starts January 5th and will end January 19th at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time……2 weeks
Ok it’s been a while since I held a coin ring contest and I have decided it’s time for another one so here goes. I couldn’t figure out how to go about getting this one going so I put it off for a while. As I was sitting by my computer I noticed the little chocolate milk bottle where I keep all my wheats for the last 2 years or so. So what we will do is count the third number on the date, there are 347 wheats in the jar. Wheat’s were made from 1909 to 1958, so we will count only the third number and that number would have to be either a 1,2,3,4,or 5
1. I will be counting only the third number of the date. If the date is 1923 I will use the number 2.
3. If I cannot make out the number, it will have no count. 0! nada!
4. If no one hits the magic number the one closest without going over will have a choice to receive a coin ring, or a Silver half dollar.

Contest closes for guesses January 19th at 11:59 PM Eastern Standard Time

1. Only one guess per member. Duplicates are OK. If I have 2 winners I will make 2 rings,
If we have no winner, the one closest to the correct number without going over wins.

2. No editing of guesses. (Note- you can quick edit your guess for a minute or so after posting without it being stamped as edited. If it is stamped edited, it is invalid)

3. I reserve the right to clarify the rules as needed if I forgot something!

4. Winner will be sent one Coin Ring, or a Silver Half.

6. After I receive ring size from the winner, or winners, ring will be made out of a Silver Quarter or Half Dollar, Depending on ring size.
7. If you don’t know your ring size, you can go to a jewelry store and get sized. I can do a size 4 to 15 anything above 15 makes the ring too thin.

Ok before I submit my magic number I want to clarify, you will be adding the third digit of ALL 347 wheats, and the closest to that number wins? Thanks for another contest man!

If no one hits the magic number the one closest without going over wins.

Hmmm...

So all we need to do is calculate the odds of finding the specific dates based upon the distribution of pennies during each year, and then figure the nominal distribution among 347 random coins

Let's see....carry the one, divide by pi, add some for windage, then subtract for inflation...multiply by x...

That makes for a total of 1056

Thanks for the contest
