Cast iron thing?

Found this a couple weeks ago. The other stuff from lot was around 1930. It is cast iron. The bottom looks to have locked into a slot and the top latched. it seems it fit to something round. I hope I got the Pics right and you can read it.

I would say that it either contained the product or it was a container used in the process of making the product. Which I beleive is baking soda.
 
Thanks Wyoming but I had already researched that site. Actually was the first site I checked. I just can't seem to find what the actual piece was off of. Did people make their own baking soda in the 30's? I have a basket made of wire that was found near this piece of metal but not sure if it is related. The 74% on both sides of the anchor looking part is what really gets my curiosity up. 74% what?
 
aside from the markings on it it looks kinda like a pipe cap or outdoor outlet/hook-up cover of some sort, maybe one coming out of a building.
