Left for Cancun on Monday. Decided not to bring the gear for hunting because of the high storm warnings for the week. Well that turned out to be a mistake. Waves were 8 to 10 to 12 feet until Thursday. Friday morning the calm came. Beach erosion at least 5 foot cuts. With huge pockets in the water still kicking myself in the butt. There are a couple pictures before and after.

The water today is dead calm. I can walk out up to my neck. Last time I was here two years ago and my nox flooded out in about a hour. There is literally nobody here detected at all walk the beach about a mile each way every day and saw nobody at low tide.

"When in doubt, take the detector out!" I feel sorry for you, I would've been majorly disappointed as well.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck - lesson learned, never believe the weatherman - can kinda relate, earlier in the year I drove over 2 hours to get to a site and my coil would not work. A long disappointing ride back home

This is why I always take a backup machine
True that brother. I learned that hard lesson back when Garrett released the AT Pro. Cool looking machine, first time out on the dry, found a man's 18K wedding band. Next day, went to another beach, weather & waves were very calm, water was flat, so I decided to wade out with my waterproof detector.

As soon as I submerged the control box, the screen flickered, went black and she was dead. Water hunt ended before it started, so ever since then, when hunting beaches, I always take a 2nd detector, because sometimes, feces occurs.
