Any info would be appreciated. Tonka took the pic and I forgot to tell him to put a coin next to it .... sorry!

The button is a little smaller than a penny.

Thanks!

Because the eagle is holding an anchor, it must have something to do with the navy.

As far as I know aridice53 is the button expert, but I haven't seen her online. :(

You may want to check some of her posts. She answered several button questions and yours looks really familiar.

i found 2 just like that last year one a coat button and one a cuff buttin. the only answer i got was its an early navy button.

hello Kalky according to Alberts it looks like NA-121 A eagle facing right , navy two piece with border and circle of rope . says they started in 1941 , a picture of the back would help in confirming this info , very nice button . Dan

Dan - could I get the name of the Alberts book? I only have the earlier button books for Uniforms (Warren Tice's Uniform Buttons of the United States 1776-1865 and Don Trioiani's Military Buttons of the American Revolution). Would love to add another book to the "jeez that woudl be a great birthday/Christmas/Father's Day gift" list. :-)

Kalky - I agree with Dan - a picture of the reverse of the button would really, really help!

The Albert's book is
"Record of American Uniform and Historical Buttons" by Alphaeus E. Albert.
