Bullet id help

Found this today, front yard of 1860 farm, im assuming bullet, fresh from the mold? Asking the experts, thanks

It's .55 diameter, has a mark on 1 side, heavy like lead. The base it why I wasn't sure
 
Thanks for the ideas, cleaned it with a brush, it's lead, 1" long, thanks

I agree with your original thought, a bullet out of a mold without the spur cut off. In one of your pics before cleaning your can see how the molten lead sunk in the spur gate as it cooled. It does, appear to have a stained patina (before it was cleaned) like old lead gets.
 
Yep, that's what I am going with, especially after seeing a picture of the molds that were used, and the marks on both sides . Thank you very much đź‘Ť
