Brass pointy thing.

It is 3 and 1/2 inches long inch and 7/8 wide.The gap is 1/4 inch. 2 holes on one side. Maybe a handle for something I don't know. Found a round and old home site. Also found 19 0 8 Indian Head 1917 wheat penny.

Could be maybe, but I don't know any tobacco fields around this part of the country. There is an old flour mill next door.
 
Sorry no idea here, but it is a cool find. Good going on the IHP.
Thanks, that's the first Indian Head I've found this year. I was actually looking for Civil War bullets. I have found quite a few Civil War items in that area.
 
I don't think it is an old tobacco spear; I am very familiar with those used in KY. Looks vaguely like a plow point, some called them shovels. Several were used at time, they were bolted on a metal shank, then pulled/dragged through the dirt to cultivate to get rid of weeds. But being hollow in the middle is not common ....
