Thanks SH! Thru research of pictures and old aerials things are a lot different now, back then water was lower, beaches went out further and each beach seems to have a different demography structure of population and the different groups within them. Like this beach it was more of a place one would take the family, the beach a few hundred yards north of here was a younger crowd, lot of class rings. And different types of people swam in different areas.. then you add all the beaches closed in the late 60s. And the beaches sands have eroded away and water levels have raised, and storms have changed the bottoms. So what was once a sandy beach is now 100 feet out of muck. Rarely find gold in close, where it was once drysand. And being water levels were lower folks would be out in the deep. Many of these spots if the sand is washed away one can still feel the post, pilings.. from these I can tell the edge of where the sea nettle nets were.

Thanks Craig... Yes, size 4.. small but it still weighs in at almost two grams, at one time two grams was a throw back, but now days its a keeper at 100 bucks.

I'm so desperate to hunt, I going tomorrow even though tide sucks will be dark if I went lowtide but I am hoping 40 to 50 mph winds will help blow water out of my goldfish bowl I hunt... Excal already to go...

Get some paxlovid, worked for me after the wife gave me hers lol... 3 white pills in morning 3 pink pills in evening for 5 days. Walk in clinic gave it to me. Its a anti-viral.

Man, don't go hunting if you're sick. It's one thing when I was hunting sick after the nor'easter, but that was on the wet, and sometimes a bit of dry. So, if I got woozy and passed out, I'd at least fall on land, but if you get woozy in the water, not good.

Stay home tomorrow, take it easy, relax, and maybe I'll perk your spirits by posting a new scoop thread, lol. That should create all kinds of fun for your viewing pleasure, lol.

If you want to get be a dry sand hunter sell your TDI's and get a nice Tesoro Compadre its all you need... or even a Ace 150 don't need a fancy detector... If I was to buy another pulse, I would give the AQ a crack even with all its issues... but right now, not interested, I have lined up some nice dirt spots to hunt.

You never got close enough to the water to smell any mud, it didn't smell. OK, you are invited but not to stand on the beach, I'll give you some suntan lotion and you can go hang out with the beach goers, I'll even supply you with a beach towel.... thanks for comparing me with KOB

You know damn well what I've done. There are plenty of pics of all sorts of finds. And some of you wanted to see pics of my trash , which at the time I thought was odd. Even pics of a few worn/destroyed scoops that nobody thought was possible. Not really into posting pics of finds anymore. Some more recent have been insane ! But overall I'm not getting the Gold as much as I used to. Mostly cause don't go as much. Beginning of the year , basically got a years worth. Got very lucky during a storm event at a beach not many really hunt and it was dangerous.

Run off with for about 4 years or longer , that's about it & Under your GFs supervision Why don't you Jail Break , fly Ct . , get out OF Cactus country , make sure you push Craigs wheel Chair & him to the beach tomorrow ! PS I saw Zero picks bro ,. in how can we believe, I admit I have nothing to show for years that went by , but I don't hunt Florida or S Cali , you do , what Sand hunter posted over three day , is the norm here , even If I hunted every day 7 days a week , I would have less than ten gold for the year , more silver & tungsten !

And this is why I coined the term "Goldfish Bowl". Lots of research goes into finding these areas for sure. Some of which is a tad easier being older and growing up in that area and remembering them yourself or from locals. But the Gold IMO doesn't really move much. Not like here anyways. Hence hunting these dive platforms 60-90 years later and finding Gold really close by. The Gold either gets covered or uncovered by sand primarily from wind events or a major storm. The Pacific really churns Gold up in big storms causing them to move quite far.

I know you gotta be working on it. Just got to kick it into high gear. Then you may be happy. You don't like doctors , I get it. But there are some medications you can take that will help. Exercise and sunshine is a more natural way for a win win. GL

I have been out 3 times this year and might try today even though tide terrible, gonna try and follow tide out.
Problem is beach gets locked up at sundown and its exactly when low tide is. Sucks... I have gone out 3 times, got silver each time, 2 studs and a piece of a chain... trying lol... all the guys I used to hunt with no longer hunt, after Sandy came it pushed up to 6 feet of fresh sand and silt into the water along with boulders, Cupajo knows what I am talking about his special beach he called boulder field were all buried and it will take a huge storm to expose them again. We had a 11 to 14 foot storm surge with Sandy...

I was finding all that gold around swim platform before Sandy after Sandy it was buried in 6 feet of silt and sand ruining that spot... it takes a lot of movement and hunting in a goldfish bowl called Long Island Sound its not gonna happen anytime soon...

Its why I really switched to slope hunting.

Its a shame none of my friends have picked up a metal detector in years its why they don't post here anymore, no reason to post when you aren't involved in the hobby.

Sandy was a long time ago. 6' of sand...ugh. Another major hurricane is going to bring more sand in. What will it take to get sand out ?
