The Vanquish was sounding a solid 28-30 from the start, and all through the dig so I kept at it. The roots were killers but this I think is in my top five finds. I thought it was a vertical medal of some sort when in the field but after clean up I see it's a buckle. Small bit of leather still attached. Late 1800s ya guess? Thanks for looking.

Very nice save, congrats. I have never saw one like that. A cool find no doubt. Good luck. Mark

Thanks everybody. Finding nice Silver coins is always a thrill but these relatively one of kind relics really puts this great hobby on even higher thrill level; at least for me.

Nice, Grats! I have a Vanquish 540. My head would have immediately told me Quarter for those numbers, but I guess it wasn't presenting a flat profile, and was giving a more on-edge profile. I'm still learning, even though I've been doing this about 2years now. It's always awesome to find new things!

Thank you. I thought it was going to be silver too. My daughter and I both run the 540. We are often in old wooded sites and are not gentle with them. So far holding well. Really happy with them. I think I use the 10" coil the most. I've contemplated moving to a the Nox 900 or Manticore but would feel that I'd have to be quite careful with them; considering the cost.

Yeah, I saw the Manticore too, and I think it was $1600 US. I'm almost 53, and have on and off back problems, so I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to detect. I watched a few videos on it and it looks impressive. I really like the ferrous/non-ferrous display; I think it would help me out a lot when dealing with old flat nails and other iffy sounds. A lot of the times I will get an 18-20, which almost always is a nail, but every once in a while I'll hit a wheatie or IHP that reads in that range. I'd hate to miss something, so I dig them anyway. Maybe the price will come down some over the next year or so! For now, I'm happy with the Vanquish. Good Luck to you and your daughter!
