big ball no corrosion

i went out around my yard and found a wheat penny '44, a little kids ring ,and a big metal ball about 1 inch to 2 inches. any ideas REAL HEAVY mabe steel no corrosion?4 to 6 inches down in the grass.

Nice wheat! I've never seen a ballbearing that big, but I guess it could be?

Stainless Steel

with little or no corrosion, I would say stainless steel. I dug up a stainless steel spoon, (which can be seen in my photo album "Dusty's finds") which, except for being bent, probably by a lawn mower, cleaned up very well. And it may very well be a pin-ball ball.

Really looks too small for a petanque ball. I have seen ball bearings that big from old heavy equipment. pretty cool find anyway....Gil
