I found this 2cent piece. It was lost in good shape. I found it in a field and at some time it looks like it was hit with the plow. I know I can’t do much with that damage. It’s got a beautiful green patina but it has corrosion some places. Ive tried scraping it hard with a tooth pick with no luck. Ive tried lemon juice in the past. I know that would help but I’m afraid it will take the green patina off. Any ideas to clean it and not damage the green patina?

The lemon juice will kill that beautiful patina. I’d leave it as is.

On occasion, I’ve leaned with vegetable
Oil with coppers. It’s gentle and rub gently with my fingers does well at extracting grit. Won’t affect green patina.

Soak it in olive oil for a long time. It has proven to remove stubborn crust on old coins before and won't affect the patina.
