I got out today for a few hours at a 1670s farmhouse I have permission for. I found a large copper and what I think is a musket ball within a few feet of each other. I have learned from the other coppers (I'm still learning) that they are difficult to improve through cleaning. If any can identify this from the pictures, it would be appreciated. Also, if anyone can comment on the musket ball to verify that this is what it is. The diameter is 0.675" and appears to be lead. Is there any way to guess the age of something like this? Finally, the small (copper?) object I found has a little nub on the bottom. I have no idea what this might be.
