Hit a beach today that had conditions that looked good, lot of rocky patches. However, everything I was digging was light, mostly melted aluminum. After about 2 hours I was thinking about hitting another beach, then out popped out a little 14k ring. 2.21 grams.

Hunted another 2 hours and just more of the same light junk. Least i nabbed one yellow.

Thanks for looking!

HH

Way to go! That style can be tricky to detect if they get a stress crack. We are sanded in bad on my side. I'm waiting for beach season it looks like.

I wanted a nice fishing rod and reel for my graduation instead of a class ring. My parents got me one, and the first day a big fish snatched it out of the boat while I was trolling. Better than a Bull shark eating a class ring off of your finger i suppose?

Yeah, I'm surprised that parents even buy their kids gold jewelry. I would have lost it in a few days as a teenager.

That school ring I found a few years ago and return and took crud for returning it from some here  the girl told me she lost it the same day she got it... she was so upset, she went out and replaced it not to upset her parents... it was in the water for 10 years... tells you how many hunters hunt that spot... it was in ankle deep water at lowtide.

Well if you got tortured by being in a "molten aluminum turd" pocket, then : You deserved to find that gold, to off-set the torture :)

It's always cool to find out how long a ring has been there. I found an 18k ruby and diamond ring with 1896 hallmark, wonder how long that was in the sand.

Probably a long time... where I found that cannonball, my friend found a gold ring dated 1789... that spot is loaded with old stuff I just hate hunting it  I plan on going back soon... I like to hunt it every couple of years... it was a really old beach from the finds we pulled there over the years... we know the history there, but we aren't sharing with the internet... :D
