I've been concentrating on detecting old sites trying to find more silver coins and such. I got permission for a farmyard that had previously had an old house but was finding nothing vintage, probably because dirt had been moved around after the house was demolished. Finally hit something that was in a dime to quarter range and really deep. It felt like a pipe and I almost backed off but dislodged it and revealed this Mobil Oil barrel spigot for their Gargoyle motor oil. I thought the knob was an art deco design, but it's actually shaped like their gargoyle logo. Patent date on it of
1922. Not what I was expecting but it saved the day, and I may try to put some shine back on it. Apparently back then oil was bulk and you refilled bottles from a large barrel... I've seen Frank buying those quart bottles with the long funnel tops on American Pickers. :)

The sign is just a web picture to show the gargoyle logo used for the handle, forgot to note that.
