I finally am getting around to my first post of 2026. I hit a spot where I found a few IHPs before and upon getting the normal IHP reading on my Nox (20) : I was happily surprised to uncover a small muddy disc. As soon as I picked it up I knew what it was- my second ever Half Dime.
Very excited to see the 1853 date. That same day I found three IHPs each time hoping for another half dime... greedy I know
I have also posted pictures of some other finds from the past few weeks. A 1905 V Nickel, a few silver dimes, a 1924 Chauffeur License, a gun which when it came out of the ground caked in dirt had me thinking it might be a real Derringer, a penny that looks to have been shot with the bullet still wrapped in it, a neat looking cigar tube cap??? with a picture of a Griffin on it, it looks to have threads on the cap.
Also a rabies tag issued in Richmond Utah. I found it near Richfield Springs NY. Fido travels more than I do...
