I received permission from a work colleague to hunt his property - a farmstead built in the late 1700's. Got out there for a few hours on Sunday and dug this 1803 Draped Bust Half Cent. As usual, Pennsylvania soil has eaten away most of the detail.

I know the feeling of seeing what soil does to the large coppers. Still, that is one beautiful find. You can make out the details and date, so that's a large plus in my book. Great find! Congrats!

It has to be a thrill to find something that is over 200 years old! Congrats on a wonderful find!

Nice find!

Sweet!
I think that some variations are worth substantial $$$$$$
But, if you are like me... In the collection it goes.

Very nice!

Thats a nice find! Congrats. A coin like that is still worth a few(actually more) bucks! Reminds me of a similar one I found in my backyard. Mine has no date though. Again, nice job.

I'm jealous. Nice finds. We would be hard pressed to find anything that old where I live. Rob

While I enjoy CW "stuff" I still get excited seeing something that old. Good job and congrats.
